Heading out for a day ride with your child? Heed these ‘rules’ of the road!
A 5 year old’s Rules of Biking
1. STICKS
Always stop to explore and never pass up a good stick. Time spent off the bike is just as important, if not more, than time spent on it.
2. DEEP POCKETS
Be sure to wear trousers with deep pockets; they are likely to be filled with curious stones and other road finds.
3. SHOW YOUR TONGUE
Don’t be afraid to stick out your tongue to show intense effort. It makes it easier!
4. GO FASTER
Be proud of your go-faster-face. Sure as eggs are eggs, you’ll pedal faster!
And for the fashionistas… In keeping with the desert brush hues of the day, Sage models cosy Uggs, a classy wool jumper from our bicycle travels in Bolivia, and hand knit ‘bear-face-flip-top gloves’ from a local sock store. His bike? An Islabike Cnoc 20.
